Criminals of the Ukraine & other works

​​deb3321 is very pleased to present and welcomes painter Toby Corbett to its studio for its fourth exhibition since opening April 2012.

​​

"Criminals..."  a group of eleven paintings becomes a group of eleven individuals undergoing rough interrogation for past crimes.  To quote Mr. Corbett, "Each figure is bounded by an abstract background that intensifies the emotional state of each subject." 

"...& other works" consists of:  Topper, an elephant slayed and Pile of Wigs, what was consistently left-over when hubris encountered the guillotine of the French Revolution.    



Trained in the visual arts and the theater with professional experience in theater and films, Mr. Corbett's lush strokes and marks integrate the abstract and narrative --a telling to the viewer of the extreme, ultimate and definitive.
