Artist Statement
In what context do genitalia turn from “natural” to “offensive”?
The Flesh Suits are an investigation in modesty, obscenity, exhibitionism, and the appropriateness of nakedness. Within these contradictions we see illustrated the humor and beauty of the human body and the perfection in what is not "ideal".
Bio
Allison Honeycutt is a fine artist and art director based in Los Angeles, California.
She graduated from NSCAD University with a BFA and Minor in drawing as well as a Post-Baccalaureate in studio art from MUM in her home town of Fairfield, Iowa. Allison works in a variety of media most notably works on paper, fiber sculpture and installation. In her art she honors the beauty of awkwardness, tactility, and humor above all.
Allison continues to create, show and collaborate on pieces whenever and wherever there is opportunity.
